09:15 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Marlies Schild will be the one to open the first run in about 15 minutes.



09:16 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

She won the last slalom in Spindlers Mlyn and leads the Slalom World Cup Ranking at the moment. After a few drop-outs in the first races the Austrian seems back on track.



09:24:

The favorites in this race are the usual suspects. Apart from Schild there are Nicole Hosp, Chiara Costazza and Sarka Zahrobska.



09:27:

The course in Maribor is not in perfect condition. The rain is moistening the course, the athletes with the lower bibs will be in advantage.



09:31 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Marlies Schild is getting ready, soon the race will begin.



09:33 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Start! Marlies Schild is on the course. The course was set by her coach Stefan Bürgler. A rhythmic run, Schild's time in the finish is 49.64.



09:33 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):

Teammate Nicole Hosp is next. Equal to Schild in the first part, the Austrian skies an excellent final section! Over a second ahead! Hosp leads.



09:34 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):

Sarka Zahrobska is even faster than Hosp at the first time measurement. The Czech is not as strong as the Austrian in the final passage though, and loses time there. 2nd position currently.



09:37 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):

Tanja Poutiainen is on the course now. Similar to Zahrobska in the first section, faster than Hosp. No visible mistakes in the final passage, but the Finn loses time there. Still she's 2nd in the finish.



09:38 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):

Therese Borssen is behind at the first time measurement already. She loses more time in the final section and is 5th currently.



09:39 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):

Veronika Zuzulova is again fast in the upper section - 0.17 seconds ahead of Hosp. She, too, loses time in the final part, but less than the others before her. Zuzulova is 2nd.



09:40 - Jelusic, Ana (CRO):

Difficulties for Ana Jelusic in the final part. She is 3.3 seconds behind in the finish.



09:41 - Bergmann, Monika (GER):

Monika Bergmann is facing the 56 gates now. A few mistakes here and there in the final part mean the 6th position for the German at the moment.



09:43 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):

Anja Paerson has been able to celebrate five slalom victories in Maribor already. Not so today: The Swede loses a lot of time on the soaky course and is 8th in the finish.



09:44 - De Leymarie, Florine (FRA):

Florine de Leymarie is next. Hosp had an excellent run in the final section, the French can't keep up with that. She is 8th at the moment.



09:46 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):

Chiara Costazza is paying tribute to the conditions on the course, too. She takes over the 8th position.



09:48 - Kirchgasser, Michaela (AUT):

Michaela Kirchgasser is having slight difficulties in the upper section already, but still manages to be fast. She doesn't lose as much time in the final part either and is 5th currently.



09:49 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

Maria Riesch is 0.65 seconds behind at the first intermediate already. No visible mistakes, but she is 1.6 seconds behind in the finish.



09:53 - Zettel, Kathrin (AUT):

Kathrin Zettel is next. Drop-out! She misses a gate.



09:54 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):

Nina Loeseth loses quite a lot of time in the final sections, like the athletes before. The young Norwegian is 12th at the moment.



09:54 - Mölgg, Manuela (ITA):

The next drop-out! Manuela Moelgg does not get far on today's course - she misses a gate right after the start.



09:56 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):

Julia Mancuso is on the course now. The American is about 0.4 seconds behind at the first intermediate. In the finish she is 13th.



09:57 - Karbon, Denise (ITA):

Denise Karbon is next. She is dominating the giant slaloms in this winter. Two mistakes in the upper part, and some time lost in the final section as well. That means the 12th position currently.



09:59 - Pietilae-Holmner, Maria (SWE):

Maria Pietilae-Holmner finishes her first round on the 16th position.



10:00 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):

Nicole Gius is 11th in the finish, 1.72 seconds behind Nicole Hosp.



10:00 - Hansdotter, Frida (SWE):

Frida Hansdotter is over a second behind at the first time measurement already. In the finish she is 17th.



10:03 - Aubert, Sandrine (FRA):

Drop-out! Sandrine Aubert first manages to stay on her skies after a big mistake in the final section, but the rhythm is gone. She misses a gate shortly afterwards and skies out.



10:04 - Fleiss, Nika (CRO):

Nika Fleiss is on the course. She comes in on the 17th position.



10:05 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):

Kathrin Hoelzl has a margin of 0.6 seconds at the intermediate already. She is 11th in the finish, 1.67 seconds behind the leader.



10:06 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):

Aita Camastral finishes her run on the 10th position.



10:07 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):

Another German now, Fanny Chmelar. 1.97 seconds behind in the finish - that should be enough to reach the second run.



10:09 - Karasinska, Katarzyna (POL):

Katarzyna Karasinska loses a lot of time in the final section. She is over 3 seconds behind in the finish.



10:10 - Gini, Sandra (SUI):

Sandra Gini shows a good run on the difficult, soaky course. 1.45 seconds behind, that's the 9th position at the moment.



10:11 - Bonjour, Aline (SUI):

Teammate Aline Bonjour isn't as strong today. With a margin of 2.6 seconds in the finish she is currently 22nd.



10:13 - Dautherives, Claire (FRA):

Claire Dauterives completes the top 30 in the slalom World Cup. She is 24th after the first run, 2.96 seconds behind.



10:15 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

Lindsey Vonn is 0.3 seconds behind at the intermediate only. She loses time in the final section though and is 15 in the finish. Still that should be enough for her to reach the final run.



10:18 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):

Elisabeth Goergl is next. She won the giant slalom yesterday, but is over 2 seconds behind now. 24th position at the moment.



10:19:

Nicole Hosp is leading the slalom World Cup in Maribor after the first run, 0.35 seconds ahead of Veronika Zuzulova. Tanja Poutiainen is 3rd.

The margins are not exactly small, but with the difficult conditions on the course, everything is possible still in the 2nd run.

Welcome back to the second run in Maribor.



12:00 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):

Elisabeth Goergl, who was 30th after the first run, will soon open the final run. This run was set by the American McCadam.



12:03 - Görgl, Elisabeth (AUT):

Start! Lizzy Goergl reached the second run in a slalom for the first time in this winter. She slips a little in the middle part and reaches the finish with the total time of 1:43.51.



12:04 - Fernsebner, Carolin (GER):

Carolin Fernsebner is skiing carefully and is 2nd in the finish. Still World Cup points for her though.



12:05 - Perner, Nina (GER):

Nina Perner is slightly ahead at the intermediate. Then she extends her leap: half a second ahead in the finish! That's the lead for the young German.



12:06 - Bonjour, Aline (SUI):

Aline Bonjour is a little too late at the gates. She is 2nd in the finish.



12:07 - Riesch, Susanne (GER):

Two Germans in front! Susanne Riesch equalled Perner's time at the first intermediate. In the finish, she is even 0.28 ahead and takes over the lead.



12:07 - Müller, Anne Marie (NOR):

Anne Marie Müller does not risk too much on this course. She is 5th in the finish.



12:08 - Fleiss, Nika (CRO):

Nika Fleiss loses her leap in the first part already. She is over a second behind in the finish, the two Germans are still in front.



12:10 - Triendl, Kathrin (AUT):

Kathrin Triendl slips a little in the final sections, there are ripples on the course already. The young Austrian is 4th in the finish.



12:12 - Pärson, Anja (SWE):

Anja Paerson is suffering from a flu. A good run, but she can't kick Riesch off the lead. The Swede is 0.05 seconds behind in the finish and on the 2nd position.



12:13 - Curtoni, Irene (ITA):

Irene Curtoni has reached the 2nd run for the first time in her career. And this is a good run, the Italian is 3rd in the finish.



12:14 - Mancuso, Julia (USA):

Julia Mancuso is next. She can't attack Susanne Riesch either and is 8th in the finish.



12:15 - Chmelar, Fanny (GER):

Fanny Chmelar was over half a second ahead of Riesch in the first run. She loses lots of time in the final part and is 0.62 seconds behind after crossing the finish line.



12:17 - Loeseth, Nina (NOR):

Nina Loeseth has gained World Cup points in all slaloms so far this winter. No time is lost in the fist part, but in the finish her leap is gone. Loeseth is 0.02 seconds behind Riesch on the 2nd position.



12:18 - Karbon, Denise (ITA):

Denise Karbon was 3rd in the giant slalom yesterday. She is able to extend her leap in the first part, but then she hits a ripple and falls!



12:19 - De Leymarie, Florine (FRA):

Florine de Leymarie had a leap of 0.79 seconds, which is halved after the first time measurement already. Difficulties in the final part, she is 9th in the finish.



12:22 - Vonn, Lindsey C. (USA):

Lindsey Vonn is next. Difficulties in the first part already, but she manages to stay on her skies. Vonn is 0.23 behind in the finish.



12:23 - Gius, Nicole (ITA):

Nicole Gius has a big leap on Riesch after the first run. She extends it in the first part, but then she slips over a gate and falls! Drop-out.



12:25 - Hölzl, Kathrin (GER):

Kathrin Hoelzl attacks Susanne Riesch. She extends her leap in the first part, and then she almost falls! Hoelzl manages to stay on the course - and leads! She is 0.15 ahead of her teammate.



12:27 - Riesch, Maria (GER):

Maria Riesch is next on the course. She is behind Hoelzl at the intermediate, but is way better in the final part. 0.34 ahead! Three Germans in front now: Maria Riesch, Kathrin Hoelzl and Susanne Riesch.



12:28 - Camastral, Aita (SUI):

Aita Camastral shows a good performance. The young Swiss breaks the German phalanx and is 2nd currently.



12:29 - Costazza, Chiara (ITA):

Chiara Costazza can't find the right rhythm in the first part. 0.16 behind in the finish, that's the 2nd position for her.



12:30 - Gini, Sandra (SUI):

Sandra Gini performed well in the first run despite her high bib. She does now, too: Gini takes over the lead, 0.07 seconds ahead of Riesch.



12:34 - Borssen, Therese (SWE):

Therese Borssen begins well, but loses her leap in the final section. She is 3rd in the finsih.



12:35 - Bergmann, Monika (GER):

Monika Bergmann is next. She begins furiously, and then she misses a gate! Drop-out.



12:36 - Schild, Marlies (AUT):

Marlies Schild didn't have a good first run. This one is better, she takes over the lead.



12:37 - Kirchgasser, Michaela (AUT):

The next Austrian is on the course, Michaela Kirchgasser. She is 6th in the finish.



12:38 - Zahrobska, Sarka (CZE):

Sarka Zahrobska is the slalom World Champion, but has never won a World Cup race in her career. She loses her leap in the first part already, and can't make this up in the final section. The Czech is 2nd in the finish.



12:40 - Poutiainen, Tanja (FIN):

Tanja Poutiainen is next, 3rd after the first run. A risky run, it is difficult on the rippled course. The Finn is 3rd after crossing the finish line.



12:41 - Zuzulova, Veronika (SVK):

Two athletes to go still, Veronika Zuzulova is next. She was 2nd in Spindler Mlyn and is in good shape. That's the lead! Zuzulova is 0.05 seconds faster than Schild.



12:44 - Hosp, Nicole (AUT):

Only Nicole Hosp can change the result now. She was 0.35 seconds ahead of Zuzulova after the first run. Again a good run in the final section - Hosp wins! The Austrian is 0.46 seconds ahead in the finish.

Nicole Hosp wins the slalom World Cup in Maribor ahead of Veronika Zuzulova. Congratulations! Marlies Schild is 3rd.
