Skiinfo nutzt einen Algorithmus um die Gesamtbewertung eines Skigebietes aus vielen uns vorliegenden Faktoren zu ermitteln. Dazu zählen unter anderem auch generelle Fakten zum Skigebiet, die Bewertung der Redaktion, aber natürlich auch die Bewertungen der Leser. Bei User-Bewertungen fallen neuere Bewertungen mehr ins Gewicht als Bewertungen, die mehrere Jahre alt sind.
Wunderschöne Lage. Gute Bar für Après-Ski. Solide Restaurants mit angenehmer Atmosphäre im Ort. Insgesamt gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Bei schwierigen Bedingungen benötigt Fernie mehr Ressourcen, um die Pisten zu öffnen. Lawinensperrungen sind verständlich. Allerdings blieben Gebiete mit deutlich geringerer Lawinengefahr während unseres Besuchs gesperrt. Einige lange, langsame Lifte mit fester Klemmung können anstrengend sein. Ein paar zusätzliche kurze, schnelle Lifte für bessere Abfahrten wären wünschenswert. Alles in allem ein Berg für Skifahrer. Kein Schnickschnack. Und das ist größtenteils gut so.

Ich hatte drei Jahre lang eine Saisonkarte für Fernie und bin dort 35 Mal im Jahr Ski gefahren. Gute Skitage sind dort sehr selten, da das gesamte Skigebiet wegen angeblicher Lawinengefahr ständig gesperrt ist. Das ist zwar nachvollziehbar, aber Profiskifahrer dürfen trotzdem in gesperrtes Gelände, um Videos in den sozialen Medien zu posten und auf Instagram mit den angeblich so guten Bedingungen zu prahlen. Es gibt keine Aufwärmhütten am Berg, sodass man an kalten Tagen weniger Abfahrten machen kann. Das Personal ist ständig unfreundlich, besonders im Kundenservice. Ich hatte eine Saisonkarte und bekam Rabatt, wenn meine Freunde mitkamen, aber man hat mir diesen Rabatt immer wieder verweigert. Die Angestellten sind arrogante Einheimische, die denken, das Skigebiet gehöre ihnen. Die Sessellifte sind während meiner Skitouren schon oft ausgefallen, sodass man einen halben Tag mit Warten verbracht hat – ohne Rückerstattung oder Rabatt. Blaue und grüne Pisten werden nicht präpariert und verkommen zu riesigen, eisigen Buckeln, was das Skifahren für Anfänger extrem schwierig macht. Wenn sie dann doch mal präpariert werden, entstehen tiefe Spurrillen, die die Bedingungen noch verschlimmern. Die Erlen an den Waldabfahrten werden nicht gefällt, sodass nur wenige Abfahrtsmöglichkeiten bestehen. Das Essen am Berg ist extrem überteuert und schrecklich (wie in fast allen Skigebieten). Viele der guten Sprünge, Drops und Attraktionen sind gesperrt. Alles (vor allem die Liftkarten) ist für ein so veraltetes und heruntergekommenes Skigebiet überteuert, und das Geld wird nicht in die Modernisierung oder die Pistenpräparierung investiert. Es ist schade, den Niedergang eines so gut gelegenen Skigebiets mitzuerleben.

we used to come here 20 years ago with our kids because it was the closest resort for us to travel to....it was great .we could park our rv at the bottom of the slope and ski to it slowly rcr started raising prices and becoming more and more unaccommodating...we stopped going and started checking out different resorts. after comig back in 2022 we were not surprised rates were way up but dissappointed that for that price they had not upgraded a single thing in fact many buildings and services were in disrepair. we had little snow on our trip and the 2 novice skiers were often scared on blue runs that they have easily done on other resorts which left them only skiing the bottom 1/4 of the mountain....i am a advanced skier and snowboarder and have done all the runs at fernie but seeing it with different eyes this time the blues here should mostly be labeled blacks and there are so many stupid uphill transitions and runouts that destroy the legs and ruin the experience of a great upper run. there has to be ways to fix these...it was -20 c on our trip and this is the first resort that we have been to that seems to want you to freeze to death after you leave the base lodge as there is no upper mountain escape from the ellements. if you enter the lost boys cafe 9upper mountain restraunt) you have to wait to be seated and thus buy something..will not be returning to fernie till news of major renovation.theres just too many great resorts getting it right....fernie is not one of them...adapt or die!

Pour les bons skieurs plein de petits couloirs à skier. Mais les run sont courts, peu de deniv au total. Qualité de neige correcte sans plus.
C'est la station de BC la plus proche de Calgary donc un peu plus de monde que dans les voisines de Kimberley et Panorama (mais on n'est pas au niveau des Alpes non plus, on en reste loin..)
Domaine plus grand que Kim mais moins intéressant que Pano.

Great snow great conditions. Also great to see loads of kids learning to ski with ski school. Friendly and fun atmosphere. Lots to do in town that is 5min away from base. Parking shuttles and downtown shuttles make everything really. Great for larger groups too as you can rent great places like the Timbers. Something for everyone at Fernie.

I’ve been skiing at Fernie for 4 years. I absolutely love it here! The environment is great and the workers are all very nice and fun. Doesn’t have as many expert runs as beginner or intermediate but the Powder skiing is amazing!

I’ve been coming to fernie for years and for the most part I like it, but the lift prices are bordering on outrageous. Just because whistler is $200 a day doesn’t mean this place needs to go in a similar direction. It rains often here, it’s windy and they often close many of the lifts due to avalanche risk. If you guys are gonna charge so much then maybe you need to take out that t bar at the bottom of boomerang and replace it with a real lift. While you’re at it, the bear chair is garbage too. On a nice day tho, the mountain is so beautiful and the powder is heaven. Just wish Canada could have apres like they do in the alps. It’s depressing that there are so few options after a nice day of runs.

Fernie is a great family mountains and the town is lovely and friendly.
You can blast blues all day and the beginners in your group will have plenty of runs on which to learn.
If you want variety, it's an easy drive to Castle and Red Mountain. So, you can easily enjoy a full week of skiing with plenty of variety
