Would recommend. Short lines. We had a great time I learned to ski here and picked it up in a bout an hour due to the great instructors. Very good for intermediate skiers.... Vollständige Bewertung
I did enjoy 2 days skiing here in January 2021. HOWEVER, SIGNAGE WAS AWFUL!!! I would study the pocket map as well as the rare Big Signs upon getting off the lift. Yet, over 2 days, never knew my location for certain due to Shzitty signage. I would start following a trail, then come across multiple intersections where multiple trails go off in every direction with ZERO signs to help you. So every run down was a mystery ride as it was IMPOSSIBLE to follow my planned route.... Vollständige Bewertung
March 2019 we stayed at a ski in/ ski out condo and hard a fantastic time. Snowed several days while we were skiing. Lift tickets don't break the bank either! ... Vollständige Bewertung
Amazing town and resort. This resort has all the charm of a quiet mountain town with upscale amenities.... Vollständige Bewertung
The ski boots that they put me in were terrible. I went back to the store the next day and told them how much pain I was in and they literally told me well then don’t ski. Wtf really I spent a lot of money on this trip and your telling me not to ski. They wouldn’t give me new boots. One of the last days were was there we went to a restaurant on the mountain and an employee told me to raise hell about this. He said that is unacceptable and inexcusable. My shins were so bruised that the sheets in the bed hurt caused pain. I couldn’t walk at all w the boots on. I literally had to crawl or someone had to carry me. I was in so much pain. ... I used to ski Purgatory as a kid in the 80’s and have some of the best childhood memories of this place. Now, 35 years later, brought my kids and they love it as much as I did back then. We came at the end of March, and it was cheaper for us to fly out here and ski for 4 days than it would have been for us to drive to Mammoth and ski for 4 days. Great value! No lift lines! Friendly staff. My daughter wants to make it an annual trip.... Vollständige Bewertung
We loved our time at Purgatory last week. The mountain was beautiful and we took an amazing snowshoe hike (wow!). Wonderful staff and volunteers, everyone of them was friendly and helpful. Will be back.
Cons-charge for overnight ski storage, locker rental was crazy (we passed on both), the food on the mountain was lower quality than other places we’ve been to. Not a great mountain for boarders, too many long flat areas.... Vollständige Bewertung
Some of the best cruising runs I have ever seen on the back side, but they all end up down on a flat that is about 200 yards from the nearest lift. Great upper body workout if polling to the lift is that is what you are looking for. Moving chair 3 is probably impractical, so maybe some sort of shuttle or rope toe is badly needed.
Purg definitely caters to the Durango crowd. Everything for visitors is pretty expensive like a $5/per night charge for the rental department to keep you rental skis overnight, $8 for a basket to keep your stuff while renting and THIRTEEN DOLLARS for a locker (even at the rentals in Park City the locker is a buck per day.)
Not being an expert skier from Durango is like being and intruder in many ways. They do no seem to like outsiders. And the apres scene is extremely loud hip-hop.
Coming down the frontside is "interesting. It is one big funnel and the snowboarders get one their last charge. Slow speed signs are not enforced.
A second pro. The setting is absolutely breath taking.
Except for the Durango crowd it this is not a friendly inexpensive local mountain --plentiful in the west. Or up-scale like Vail, Sun Valley or Squaw. Kind of a 'tweener.... Vollständige Bewertung
