I love skiing at Magic. The powder there is great and the lift prices are super cheap. There are some really fun and challenging powder runs to the right of the lift, and the atmosphere is friendly. However, their bathrooms are horrible and there are not a ton of beginner runs, but that will probably change as the owners are getting the second lift back into service that will have less challenging runs for beginner skiers. If you live in Twin, this is the best close mountain to go to.... Vollständige Bewertung

I must say that I met some very nice people during my two trips to Magic Mt. The ski area is relatively small but the slopes were fun and the snow was plenty. However, the boots both times were in very bad shape and the bathrooms were disgustingly filthy. I probably won't go back, even though the prices were cheap and the distance was close. I will pay a little more to go someplace where they take some pride in there equipment and facilities.... Vollständige Bewertung

I love this mountain. This mountain has a really good bunny hill and is pretty close to twin falls. Only costs around 20 bucks. The terrain is awesome, and the snow is really good. The only problem is that it only has 3 green runs on the actual mountain, and 1 of them you have to take a blue run to get to, so its not as much for beginners. The customer service is really good there, and the people are really nice. Its not too crowded because it is a smaller resort, while it still gives a lot of good terrain. They have a terrain park that is honestly better than some world class parks, because the owner lets the employees build pretty much anything they want out there. Great resort. ... The runs were hard, hadn't been groomed. It was almost like skiing on ice. Because of limited runs, It becomes boring after a while. It could be a blast if they groomed more runs, i.e. Clauds run, etc I won't go back and not take my girl friend who is advance beginner ... Vollständige Bewertung

This resort touts itself as being closer to people than Pomerelle. Geographically, that is true (for those of us in Twin Falls). However, the road up to Magic Mountain is treacherous and still takes about an hour (or more) to get there. Pomerelle is an hour and a half away. The hill is much smaller than Pomerelle. The lodge is a shack. There is no night skiing at Magic Mountain. Magic Mountain's rates are almost as much as Pomerelle. Pomerelle has must as much beginner slopes as Magic. I really see no reason, other than having kids you want to stick to the sledding hill while you ski, that a person would go to Magic Mountain instead of Pomerelle. If the rates were $10 cheaper, Magic Mountain may be a viable option. (By the way, I put "empty nesters" on the "recommended for" line because it would not let me submit without giving a recommendation and there was not a "none" selection.)... Vollständige Bewertung

Hidden secret in the Magic Valley. I had not skiid the area since the new owners took over. They have made wonderful improvements, and they really make you feel welcome! Snow has been awesome when I have visited! Steeps, deeps, trees, groomed, etc. They have it all! Magic carpet is a wonderful additon as is the tubing hill (have not personally tried the tubing, but by the looks of those going, it is a success). For terrain park folk, they added some new rails this winter. All who use seem to be having fun. Great family atmosphere and affordable! ... Vollständige Bewertung

Forgot to add that this is a very short drive from Twin Falls and is easy to get to the mountain. Also they have a fun tubing hill for those in the family that might not want to ski or snowboard. If you need night life you will be back to Twin Falls easily to enjoy.... Vollständige Bewertung

This little mountain has some great black diamond runs. They are not long but they are fun. After you can master this little hill you can go anywhere and have fun. It is hard for beginners but we taught both children at this mountain and now we can take them anywhere and not worry about if they can make it down. There are not a lot of runs but follow the locals to some fun stuff that isn't posted and you will never run out of a challenge. This hill is in the process of being updated and new and improved terrain parks, lifts and lodge accommodations are happening each week. We recommend this hill for everyone but watch out because once you master it then other hills may seem a little boring. ... Vollständige Bewertung

If you live in South-Central Idaho or are traveling through, give Magic a try. Easy to get to, homey/historic day lodge (part of it from circ. 1938) and good people, staff & locals. Ski all the groomed runs and then ask a local for directions to their favorite powder holes and they'll probably take you. Short to medium runs, some will get your attention and keep it, some good cruisers and a few that could use a guide. Don't overlook the old mountain formerly serviced by the still standing T-Bar, lots of hidden treasures. Intermediates and advanced will enjoy, beginners will be challenged but once comfortable will manage any other hill with confidence (I learned here over 40 years ago and swear by this!). For kids with a little imagination, the whole place is a big terrain park. No two mile runs or mega steeps but a high probability of a good day skiing many laps (do 30 or you're a sissy), most ending right at the next chair ride without standing in line. Regretably I've missed a couple of seasons since my last visit. I work for Sun Valley but I do my best to take a day off work each year to visit Magic, its worth the effort! ...
