We have been taking our six year old daughter here for a few seasons now.Rentals and lift tickets are very affordable and its never too crowded. My daughter loves the ski teachers and they are super friendly and supportive. This is a great place for kids to learn to ski or snowboard. If you have more experience then you should might want to look elsewhere. But this place is great for beginners. ... Vollständige Bewertung

We took a season pass , so it is best deal for kids to learn skiing when they Are beginners. That resort people at soda springs are friendly. Due to heavy snow we could not reach there on time for sling classes , they accepted come and use that later. ... Vollständige Bewertung

My family bought season passes for Soda Springs and had a great year. ~$400 total for 4 season passes with no blackout dates. You would spend all that and more on one day at Squaw. The kids love the place as do mom and dad. There are only 2 lifts. The green circle lift is a bit more crowded. By crowded I mean you might be 6th in line to jump on the lift. However, if your kids have graduated to blue squares and black diamonds head to the other lift and you will never wait in line. The runs are short and a bit on the easy side, but still great fun. I have snowboarded for 20 years and still have fun here. One very nice upside to it being an easier resort is that on powder days you can cut fresh lines all day. Not like the big resorts where by 10am all the powder is cut up. ... Vollständige Bewertung

We took our 2 kids to Tube Town and spent $136 to ride the hills for the day with a moving carpet. It was so lame! Kids were bored after 1st time down. The lanes were so slow they weren't even fun, the carpet went slower than you could walk up the hill, so that wasted tons of our time and the guy at the top was SO rude to everyone! He kept belittling people and kids, saying, "What part of behind the sign do you not understand? !" We left after 20 min. And asked for at least part of our money back. They refused and were so horrible. This place shouldn't even be in business. We went to Donner Summit and paid $5 to just use our own sleds in an open area and had WAY more fun. What a waste of $136!... Vollständige Bewertung

I have taken my family there many times and well be going back as soon as it snows..If your looking for an inexpencive family place to spend some family time in the snow this is a nice place. With a lift ticket you can tube for an hour and then ski for a while and then tube again ,,No time limit ,,so little ones can eat lunch or take a nap...the seperate area for small ones ,the staff will teach the basics of boarding or sking or they can play I only wish the way they ticket the kids was clearer. So read what covers what for your child before you buy and walk around, talk to the staff,,very frindly on all occasions... Overall ok for the bucks and may be good place for snow tubing but stay away if you want to Ski or Snowboard. They have only 2 lifts and if one lift operations is disrupted, the staff won't let you know and won't refund the money. I was also disappointed on staff knowledge and experience about the ski resort. Most of the staff didn't know about the condition of the ski areas. The staff at the top of the Crystal Bowl chair didn't know the easiest way down the slope. The lift operator staff was pretty amateur and was unaware of safety operations. Parking was also poorly managed and the traffic was stuck for 30 minutes at the intersection. The crowd was also uncontrolled mostly because of snow tubing place. The 2 star rating is for the value for money. ... Vollständige Bewertung

We have 2 kids, one is 6 years old beginner skier, and one 2 years old. We thought they would both get fun from Soda Spring. According its website, it offers begineer ski route and tubing, etc. Pricing seems ok. However the trip turns to be a big disappointment. We went visited on 12/22/09. After we bought the lift tickets, we realized one of the lifts (total 2) is closed that day. The still operating one is too higher for my 6-year-old daughter. The operator told me they had some mechanic issue with "Lion's Head". I kept watching them for about 30 minutes, they took no action. I asked them again if they can operate it again. One of the guys hinted me they are fewer people than they expected, Lion Head will not open for the rest of the day. Of course I'm not happy. I went to the base lodge asking for refund, the cashier refused to refund me the ticket, and pointed me a small poster out side, saying "no lift ticket refund for weather reason". So, my daughter had to walk uphill by herself or let I pull her up. What a nightmare. 3 problems with Soda Spring. 1. If half of the lifts are not operating, staff should warn skiiers before they buy the tickets 2. It is a clear and sunny day, weather condition is just ridiculous 3. They should not steal people's money! ... Vollständige Bewertung

We went there with my son's family (incl 2 grand children 5-7). It was too crowded, too costly for the family and poorly organized. We left after we were tired of standing in lines. (went twice for $20 ea.) Then went to Tahoe to eat. We asked around and found that we could go tubing/sledding at Kings Beach, N.Tahoe Park. It's free. We made our own fun and had a great time. Wish I knew about it instead of Soda Springs, I'd save enough for gas, food and sleds then a great meal. No more Soda Springs for us. Don't be disappointed, go somewhere else. ... this is a very familly friendly park. But it would be nice if they could post some signs about where kids (and their parents) can build snowballs and snow men without risking getting hit by beginner ski and/or snowboarders. The prices are great but it would be nice if they had additional tubes for the tube runs as the wait in the line can get rather long - and the tube only tickets have a time limit on them. The staff was helpful and friendly if VERY young - the two girls working the sports shops estimate ages were 9 and 10.... Vollständige Bewertung

There are some good points about Soda, more so when considering family friendly prices. They have good deals for family packages etc. It's also good place for pure beginners with kids for learning to ski based on the slope difficulty and rental packages. However, there is a serious lack of maturity from the staff there, and little or no supervision. At one point, my 8 year old and I were getting on the lift, him being a beginner, and he fell, which is a pretty common occurance on the beginner lifts. The kid manning the chair stood and stared at us while I struggled to get him back on his feet. Didn't move a muscle to help! He even looked a bit annoyed at us. I gave him a really dirty look once we managed to get back up and onto a chair, and he seemed completely oblivious to why I would be mad. We decided to do some tubing that afternoon, since the prices were good. However, they had kids running the show there too, and again, no supervision. It was the Tuesday after Presidents Day, and there were about 10 of us in line at any one time, which is not a long line in my opinion. However, it took 20 minutes for us to get to the front because they didn't have nearly enough tubes, requiring users to wait for a tube to arrive. This was particularly annoying in the longer tube run, as it ends a solid 50 yards from where you need to drag the tube over to the next person in line. How long does it take an 8 year old to drag a tube 50 yards? I could not understand why there were not staffers at the bottom of the run waiting to help drag the tubes back over, and I was really annoyed that they had so few tubes. When I voiced my feelings about the lack of tubes to one of the staffers who looked more "senior" than the others ( he looked like he might actually be out of high school, although his mohawk hair cut made it hard to tell). he simply brushed me off and said " you should have been here yesterday. The wait was an over an hour for a tube." This was his answer to my complaint. If they would have just had another 7-10 tubes on each of the hills, the wait would have been cut in half. That's just being cheap in my opinion. After getting in 3 tube slide runs in 60 minutes, my kids were sick of waiting in lines and asked to leave. So much for the bargain prices. Cheap yes, but you get what you pay for, including unhelpful, inexperienced staff. I'm not going back there. ... Vollständige Bewertung
