Hidden Valley has a fun option called the Pilar Plunge. This is tubing down lanes of ice/snow. Sounds like so much fun!!! HOWEVER …. Hidden Valley schedules way too many participants at the same time. In the 2 hour timeframe slotted, our family of 6 got 4…yes you heard that right, only 4…times tubing down the lanes. Everything was fine except that Hidden Valley booked WAY too many people to make it enjoyable for the price paid. Definitely NOT worth the price paid!!! Equated to almost $10 per slide down!! Ugh!! Waiting in line for 30-40 minutes per time was ridiculous!!
Location is close
Too many tubers scheduled at the same time

Friendly staff. Easy to get to from St. Louis. Order passes on line ahead of time and that speeds up wait. I’ve been a season pass holder for 15+years and love it. They do a great job making snow.
Several beginner lifts. Great way to get some practice in

I am a 20 year season pass holder but not any more Had to argue height requirements for my son even after I showed them their web sight requirements to snowtube. 35$ per person for 2 hr got to down hill 3 times due to extemly long lines.we will not be back
Not much, its close to my location
Will not accept cash,New hours very limited, over full parking, mask required to go to get food or drink(no mask requires in this Missouri)

I grew up skiing in the East, so I'm grateful to have a ski area in St. Louis, and I had a good time skiing there. But they need to step it up. I've been twice this winter and both times I had to wait over 30 minutes in the cold to get a pass after having paid for my ticket online. They only had one window open when there are five windows! I skied right after it had snowed two inches. Unlike any decent ski area, they don't sweep off the chairlifts - so you sit on snow - and then you're wet the rest of the day - had to go home early! Then they don't bother to remove GRAFFITI from the chairlifts. They you watch them make and blow snow into the woods off the trail. Hidden Valley is owned by Vail Resorts - and Vail Resorts needs to get some better management of this place!
It's skiing in St. Louis

Been five times this week. Its not Colorado however its a great place to prqcrice and get in shape to go west. Insteuctors arw as good as any in mountian statea. All of years and years of experience. An annual pass will save you the long lines to get in on weekends
Runs for all skill levels
Saturdays can be very busy

I grew skiing New Mexico/Colorado and while there is no comparison it is still nice to have a fun little hill close to home for some quick turns. People complaining about the ice or small hills must have forgotten that they were in Missouri and that all of the snow is man made. They do a good job of keeping the trails groomed and the terrain parks in shape. Only down side is the cost of lift tickets which is 50 or so bucks but they do have discount days and nights. Speaking of nights the whole area is lit up at night so you can ski up until 1am. Is this Breck? No but its not bad for what was once a golf course either.
Its very close to St. Louis and family friendly.
Expensive for what it is

Love this place! The snow is great when it hasn't warmed and refroze. West mountain really adds to the experience. So much mote convenient than Colorado.
Great Midwest resort. So lucky to have this resort so far away from traditional ski areas in the West and East
It's the Midwest

No one tells you what to do or where to go if it's your first time there. Small hills as well.
There's snow

If you can ski/board here you can do it anywhere! I have for years poo pooed mid-western glacier skiing. This year I shelved my bias and visited Hidden Valley. I had a great time! Timing was paramount...it had been cold for a week; then warmed up. The snow guns were off. The snow was good. My wife was flying into STL. I had the weekday off and the afternoon to kill. Hidden Valley was better than Paoli Peaks. Boarding is fun even close to home. Having fun is better than dreaming of having fun. The smaller hills were good for training on. I will visit again....with an eye on the weather!
Its a good place to learn/sharpen skills
Varieblity of ice/snow.
