The mountain is impeccably groomed. The lift lines are minimum. The chairs are slow but feel the slopes from getting crowded. They could upgrade the facility with a deck and chairs to enjoy the sun. Overall I visit it often and find it the best mountain in the area.... Vollständige Bewertung

I love Elk and have been going there for 30 years, but cannot give the highest rating. Its a wonderful mountain for intermediate skiiers and snoweboarders and for people who like the great scenery. The scenery has even improved with extensive tree growing which has certainly impacted the appearance over the years (I have pictures from every year and track it) the problem is Elk has invested very little in the small scale ammenities that make skiing enjoyable multiple times in one place. Some extra challenging trails in some areas and definately a real patio with chairs and grilling like most of the northeast mountains and particularly during Covid. Elk also needs online ordering and newer ticket systems. They have elements like a warming shack (A Covid disaster) for people in the know, but could expand on that in easy ways around the mountain. Its not Elk's fault but the area around it has gone downhill the last 30 years. Few restaurants within a 30 minute drive or decent hotels. Elk's the best mountain in PA and they have their audience. Its not expensive and its always fun. Maybe is shouldn't change, but even a small number of improvements would go a long way.... Vollständige Bewertung

For PA its good, but that's relative. Nothing challenging at all, and there are some open looking gladded spots that you will be reprimanded for skiing in because their policy is no skiing between the runs. And the "ski patrol" seem to take pride in chasing you out and yelling at you, even though there are no real markings other than their dumb signs that say no skiing recklessly off trails... I guess it is easier than having ski patrol that can do the job needed for gladded runs. And they could have great tree runs with all the pines planted, but prefers to caterer to the beginner PA and surrounding crowd rather than decent skiers. Facilities are garbage and outdated, and cant even comment on the food because service was impossible to get, but it looked dreadful. Sat at a table for 15min while servers walked around then left. Little reason to go there unless you live close. Oh and super slow old lifts, but decent uphill capacity. Pretty lousy overall, with massive potential to compete with the Catskills if they had the $ and resources. ... Vollständige Bewertung

Skiers and boarders each have plenty of room on the slopes to have fun. Excellent mountain management allows for good spacing and avoids everyone being too close to each other. Beautiful trails too. ... Vollständige Bewertung

Gotta laugh at some of these reviews. Beware of these idiots on the slopes or on the road driving up. You certainly do not want to be breaking bread near them as well. ELK ? ...... its good Pocono skiing. Like any ski area, use judgement with weather, conditions and crowds. Peace... Vollständige Bewertung

Been going for years and it is like going to Vermont in some ways ... lift chairs ancient & way too slow except at the very bottom of the mountain, but the good scenery & types of trails are just wonderful considering it’s PA ... perfect place for beginners & intermediates to learn, and just a fun time to fly down the trails if you were more advanced etc. you can get half day lift tickets, which is nice because you can’t get that some other resorts around PA. One big negative - the all season pass is absolutely outrageous in price.... Vollständige Bewertung

2020 was the first season i began going to Elk Mountain. Prior to that I confined my trips to Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Camelback, Blue Mountain. Even though I am spending additional 40 minutes each way to drive there, overall I like Elk better than the rest I just mentioned. Firstly, it is not as crowded and I found skiers are usually better trained as compared to Camelback, where I would constantly slow down because of the beginners. The length of the trails also in Elk's favor. Lifts are pretty slow and sometimes they would stop a few times before reaching the top, but it's the least of the problem. What's good is that lines to the lifts are much shorten than of those on Camelback. Being said that all and all, I give my vote to Elk Mountain. Now about the things I don't like. 1. Parking area is at the bottom of the slops and they don't allow to drive up and drop off. Though, they do offer free ride from parking area to the lodge, so this point is only half bad. 2. Dining area is a zoo. People come and reserve seats at the tables by leaving their bags right on the table tops. Then they go skiing and I my family has to walk around with trays in search of a free spot at the tables. This is not just Elk's problem but everywhere in Poconos I skied. This is ridiculous and distinct American dont-give-a-shit-about-others attitude. Honestly, Elk's Management, please enforce some order around dining area. I love skiing, my family and I have been going on annual skiing trips to European Alps for the last 15 years. We never seen such blatant disrespect to fellow skiers. In fact, anywhere Europe we have been they would ask you to leave if you just sit in eatery without actually eating. Forget about leaving your stuff behind. My family was so discouraged with dining experience at Elk that we now ski for as long kids can go on and then simply leave and have a meal on the way home. I would give the resort 4 stars if the Management did not show their indifference to the issues at the dining area. ... Vollständige Bewertung

I’m reviewing this for where it is, not where it isn’t. In PA, it’s the best ski mountain in the state. Great snow conditions, great grooming, most interesting trails and layout. Lodge is solid. It’s a skiers mountain. ... Vollständige Bewertung
